SPA START UP FOR SILVER ION PURIFIER

A. Drain and refill your spa every four months

B. Refer to the silver ion sanitation schedule below. Note that a small dose of chlorine (sodium dichlor) must be added each time you drain and refill your spa. To ensure the efficiency of your FreshWater + continuous silver ion purifier, be sure to follow these guidelines (refer to your spa Owner’s Manual for your spa water capacity).

Silver Ion Sanitation Schedule

When:
Spa start-up or refill.....Refer to your Spa Owner’s Manual for start-up procedures.

Prior to each use.....Add 1 Tbsp. of Enhanced Spa Shock to spa per 250 gals.

Once a week.....Add 3 Tbsp. of Enhanced Spa Shock to spa per 250 gals.

Every four months.....Drain and refill your spa. Replace the FreshWater + continuous silver ion purifier and add 1.5 tspns. chlorine to spa per 250 gals.

As needed.....Add 3 Tbsp. Enhanced Spa Shock to spa per 250 gals.

Sanitation Note: Enhanced Spa Shock is a fast-acting oxidizer that attacks cell walls and activates the silver ions, allowing them to do their job more rapidly and effectively. We recommend the use of Enhanced Spa Shock, a chlorine free oxidizer that is pH neutral so it won’t alter the water chemistry. If an Enhanced Spa Shock treatment (either before use of weekly shock) has been missed, or if the water is hazy, cloudy, or has an odor, chlorine should be used instead of Enhanced Spa Shock. Add 1.5 tspns. of chlorine to the spa per 250 gallons. (1 tspn. chlorine = 2 tbsps. Enhanced Spa Shock) The use of a FreshWater II high output ozone system is recommended with the FreshWater + continuous silver ion purifier.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR HOT SPOT SPAS ONLY: The FreshWater + purifier relies on the circulation of water throughout the spa to disperse the silver ions. In the Hot Spot spa, automatic circulation is provided when the heater and pump turn on due to a drop in water temperature. If you live in an extremely not climate, the heater may not cycle on often enough to provide adequate circulation for the FreshWater + system. To guarantee adequate circulation for the FreshWater + purifier in extremely hot climates, the circulation cycle should be used. To activate the circulation cycle: A. Locate the circulation cycle switch on your spa (refer to Owner’s Manual). B. Activate the circulation cycle. The low speed setting of the pump will now turn on for 4 hours per day, at the same time as you initially turn on the switch. This means that if you activate the switch at 10:00 a.m., the low speed pump will activate every day thereafter from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
